Barnaby’s is a community coffee shop in the beautiful village of Swanmore, set next to St.Barnabas Church. It is open from Tuesday through to Saturday, serving freshly ground real coffee, hot chocolate, tea, cold drinks, and the most wonderful homemade cakes! Opening hours can be found here, and directions here.
For many years, Barnaby’s was actually known as The Old School Room and it was used for teaching. After a long period of little use by the village or the church, it was completely refurbished in 2014 by a team of volunteers and Barnaby’s opened for business later that year. Funding for the project was provided jointly by Portsmouth Diocese, St Barnabas church, and some very generous individual donors.
Today, Barnaby’s is a vibrant addition to the Meon Valley and its visitors, providing a comfortable place to relax, meet friends and chat. It plays host to a number of events and meetings, details of which we also post on our Facebook page. Because Barnaby’s is run entirely by volunteers, you’ll always get a lovely welcome and lots of homemade cake to choose from!
