It’s now more than 10 years since Barnaby’s first opened its doors. Back then, we had no idea how popular our little coffee shop would become or just how much it would grow to be part of the heart of our local community.
Over time, we’ve simply outgrown our small and well-loved prep area — it’s worked hard for us, but it’s showing its age! So, the time has come for a little refresh and refit to help us keep serving you the excellent coffee and homemade cake you’ve come to expect.
With many people making the most of school holidays and summer breaks in August, this feels like the perfect time to press pause. Barnaby’s will be closed from Tuesday 5th August while the work takes place, and we look forward to welcoming you back, refreshed and ready to go, on Tuesday 26th August.
Thank you, as always, for your support and understanding. We can’t wait to show you what’s new!
Saturday 7th December 2024 sees the return of the Swanmore Wind Band to Barnaby’s. They will be entertaining us with some festive tunes, so come along and get in the spirit.
Their Christmas charity this year is Simon Says Child Bereavement Support, supporting bereaved children in Hampshire. You will be able to donate on the day via card or cash, and we thank you very much for your support.
In partnership with yeomansyearbook.org.uk and the Swanmore Parish Council, we are pleased to confirm 7 dates for the Classic Cars @ Barnaby’s events in 2025.

DOORS OPEN 0930 to 1200 CARS OVER 30 YEARS OLD WELCOME NO NEED TO REGISTER – JUST TURN UP
It is frequently the case that over 60 cars turn up at each event, so if you are planning to display a car or two, we advise that you arrive early to ensure you get a space. There are marshalls on site to help.
The event will be supported by Barnaby’s “popup” coffee shop, serving coffee, tea and yummy homemade cakes. Barnaby’s will nominate a charity on the day, and all proceeds will go to that charity. Fingers crossed for the weather!
On Saturday30th November, the Bishop’s Waltham Men’s Shed will once again be selling their festive hand made goodies at Barnaby’s Coffee Shop from 10am.
The Men’s Shed offers support and services in the local community and have refurbished many a bench and telephone box in the surrounding villages, as well as many other projects and challenges they take on.
Please come along and find out what they do and support them if you can.
Saturday 12th October will mark our 10th Birthday – a major milestone for the village, our customers and all the volunteers who have made Barnaby’s the success that it is. We’ll be celebrating that success with everyone who has made a contribution – whether large or small – details of which will be posted in the summer.
Meanwhile, just click here to meet some of the volunteers who make this fabulous place tick.
