As some of you know, we recently received Planning Permission for our new all-weather awning. The groundworks started on Thursday 5th May, and will take two weeks to complete. While this is going on, not all our outdoor seating at the front will be available, but there’s plenty round the side where we have recently added more tables!

Classic Cars are back
Our Classic Car Summer kicks off this weekend, with a welcome return to a collection of stunning vehicles from private collectors around the Meon Valley.
PRE-1990 CARS WELCOME
NO NEED TO REGISTER – JUST TURN UP
DOORS OPEN 1000 to 1230
With up to 50 cars expected at each event, we’ll be in the main car park opposite Barnaby’s. If you are attending, you may arrive any time from 0945, when a marshal will show you to a space where you can display your car. The event will be supported by Barnaby’s “popup” coffee shop, serving coffee, tea and yummy homemade cakes made by our friends at Bishops Waltham Country Market. Barnaby’s will nominate a charity on the day, and all our proceeds will go to that charity.
Head to https://barnabys.coffee/classiccarsummer for details of all our gatherings this year.
Could you look after our flower boxes?
We’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in looking after the 5 or 6 flowerboxes outside Barnaby’s. As the Spring approaches, we’d love for them to look fabulous once more. We’ll pay for the bulbs/seeds/plants that you buy of course, so we’d just need a little bit of your time please!
Interested? Just head to barnabys.coffee/contact and get in touch! Thank you.
Special hours confirmed for Christmas Week
Many of you have been enjoying Barnaby’s in the run-up to Christmas – either to meet up with friends for the first time in a while, or to sit with your laptop and research potential present ideas, or to give your kids that special end-of-term treat. To help support this need, Barnaby’s will have special opening hours during Christmas Week:
- Monday 20th December 10am to noon
- Tuesday 21st December 10am to noon
- Wednesday 22nd December 10am to noon
Barnaby’s will be back on Tuesday 4th January 2022.

Back to normal from Saturday 4th September
Without our wonderful volunteers, Barnaby’s can not function. As more and more of you come back to help with a shift or two, so we are now able to return to full pre-pandemic opening hours. Therefore, from Saturday 4th September, Barnaby’s will be open:
Tuesday | 2pm to 4.30pm |
Wednesday | 2pm to 4.30pm |
Thursday | 9am to midday 2pm to 4.30pm |
Friday | 9am to midday 2pm to 4.30pm |
Saturday | 10am to 1pm |
If you would like to volunteer, even if only for an hour or two here and there, please head to barnabys.coffee/volunteer so we can get in touch! For those who already have a login, September shifts are now available on ShiftController.
‘House rules’ from 19th July
The easing of restrictions in the UK from today allows us to finally open up our indoor seating – the first time in well over a year! In a similar vein to other hospitality venues, we are going to retain some simple ‘house rules’ in order to keep everyone as safe as we can.
- Please wear a mask (unless you have an exemption)
- Please use the hand sanitiser as you enter
- Check in using the NHS QR code, or complete the Track & Trace form by the door
- Once seated, send an emissary to the till to place your order
- Sit back & relax. We’ll bring your order to you, even if you are outside
Thank you. Together, we will keep Barnaby’s safe.
Weekday opening returns
We’ve been busy recently, training new volunteers and modifying our procedures to ensure we can serve you yummy coffee and cake in these challenging times.
Now we’re ready to return to weekday opening, kicking off with Fridays from 9am to midday. We’ve got lots of new things to see at Barnaby’s, including some delightful new flower displays outside, courtesy of our very own Berty Ferrone. Grazie Berty!
Come on in!
As part of our gradual return to full service, this weekend you’ll be able to come on in to Barnaby’s to place your coffee order and choose a yummy cake! Like many other places, we sadly do not have the space to seat anyone indoors within the current Government guidelines, but we’ve got lots of tables outside!
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Outdoor seating is back!
As part of our ‘phased’ approach to re-opening, Barnaby’s outdoor seating is now available. This does rather put us at the mercy of the weather gods, but we’re going ahead anyway! If there is a table available, please sit down and then send an emissary up to the till to place your groups order.
The takeaway service will operate as normal.
There are restrictions still in place for meeting people outdoors (rule of 6, social distancing etc), so please be mindful of those while you are visiting Barnaby’s. If in doubt, one of our wonderful volunteers will help you.
